- 2½ cups flour
- 1 cup molasses
- ½ cup butter or coconut oil
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon cloves
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees, grease one 9 inch pan, sprinkle with flour.
- In large bowl mix all ingredients well, then mix 3 minutes on medium.
- Pour into pan.
Bake for 55 to 60 minutes.
