Snickerdoodles
- ½ cup butter or margarine, softened
- ½ cup shortening (95 grams)
- 1½ cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, sugar and eggs.
- In separate bowl, mix flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt.
- Blend flour mixture with butter and sugar mixture.
- Mix: 2 TBSP sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Roll balls in cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet.
